Before you take the leap

The most common questions from Egyptian IT professionals considering the move.

Do I need to speak Dutch to work in the Netherlands?

Not at all. The vast majority of Dutch tech companies operate entirely in English. You'll need Dutch for daily life eventually, but your first job, and often your entire career, can be conducted in English. We include a basic Dutch language and culture briefing as part of our onboarding.

How long does the visa process take?

Most Egyptian IT professionals qualify for the Dutch highly skilled migrant permit (kennismigrant), which typically takes 4–8 weeks from submitting the application. We prepare and submit all documentation on your behalf.

Can I bring my family?

Yes. Once you have your work permit, your spouse and dependent children can apply for a dependent residence permit. We can advise on the process, though the family permit is handled directly with the IND. Many of our candidates arrive as a family.

What are the salaries like compared to Egypt?

Significantly higher. A mid-level software developer in the Netherlands typically earns €50,000–€70,000 per year. Senior engineers and architects often exceed €80,000–€100,000. We help you understand the market rate for your profile and negotiate the right package.

How much does PiM IT charge candidates?

Nothing. Our service is completely free for candidates. We are paid by the employer only after a successful placement is made. There are no hidden fees, no contracts with us to sign, and no obligations.
